Bullshit

I've had some time to think about everything and everyone before me. The innocent are such an easy target. I was never born free. You're older not wiser. Your age means nothing when it comes to common sense. Credit your hate to a higher hand. It's bullshit and you know it.
Cast your stones towards those who won't return them and tell me, what good have you done? Pass your judgement onto those who don't deserve it and tell me, what good have you done?
I've had some time to think about lessons learned and everything I have earned. The stories no longer make sense. I won't listen to another word. I'm older and I'm wiser; in no need of a second opinion. Credit your hate to a higher hand. It's bullshit and you know it.

Lower Than This

My days are lacking definition. They're full of hope, but more repetition. Stuck in a routine, I just can't seem to dig my way out. No matter how hard I try, I can't free my mind of what's become of me.
Just do what you're told. Expectations are always low.
Easy come and easy go. Paying my dues barely gets me through. There's a dead-end at every turn. Exhaustion set in long ago. It's made itself at home. I've been running on empty, but it'll never stop me.

Sorry About The Mess

I know this feeling all too well. The ebb and flow will drag me straight to hell. Convince myself it's downhill ahead. Convince myself I'm better alive than dead.
It's exhausting to keep thinking there's good reason to keep breathing.
Feeling out of step, out of tune. You might have noticed if you weren't there too. We can decide to bleed, but I wanna breathe.
I know damn well that this won't shake it, swallow one more pill, and pretend I'll make it. I'll feign emotion that has ceased to be by smiling wide through yellowed crooked teeth.
Just keep breathing.
It's exhausting to keep breathing.

Hate The Hateful

The folds in our brows and the cuts on our hands have numbed our minds and erased our chance to truly feel alive; to truly feel grateful. I hate the hateful who try to justify their entitlement. They keep our hands moving while our mouths stay silent.
What could be has become what is. So desperate for convenience. No humility. You wouldn't pull me up off the ground.
I've spent a long time waiting for an explanation. I'll clench my fists and grit my teeth. We're allowed to sleep when we're six feet deep. What has become can be undone.
I drank until piss ran down my leg and a rictus grin was etched into my face. My lips splintered open and drool seeped in. I could sleep again.

Rotten Way

I die a little bit each day climbing ladders I don't want to be on. My brain is weathered and I've felt better. The burned hand knows best.
I'm in an awful state. I'll cope in a rotten way.
Bottoms up helps me calm down a bit. I'll burn the bridges that I'll never want to cross. I'm okay with this. I'll rise up from it. The burned hand knows best. I won't lay my thirst to rest.

The Fight Within Toledo, Ohio
The Fight Within is loud, energetic, and gritty. We have a more modern rock and roll sound, but also frequently allude to older, classic punk influences. Loud, melodic guitars and gritty vocals are characteristic to us. The music is intense in sound, but our top priority has always been to have fun. ... more
